14. Do Nicotine pouches cause gum disease?

The nicotine pouches are 100 % tobacco-free but they do contain nicotine, which is derived from the tobacco plant. The Nicotania tabacum is a tobacco plant which stems from the potato family and other species in this family also contain nicotine, albeit in very small dose, such as potatoes and tomatoes. High doses of nicotine can sometime cause side effects such as shivers, palpitations and queasiness, much like how the body sometimes reacts to large amount of coffee or other high doses of other caffeine products.

As mentioned before, the nicotine pouch is placed under your upper lip and the nicotine is absorbed through your gum. This has caused people to wonder whether or not they cause gum disease. It is not unusual for adults to experience gum disease to some degree, and most people experience it at least once. Some side effects could be that your gums bleed when you brush your teeth, or you experience bad breath. The number one cause of gum disease is bad oral hygiene. If you do not brush your teeth regularly, plaque can accumulate and irritate your gum. The best way to protect your teeth and gum is to brush your teeth, preferably twice a day, and to floss regularly. It is also recommended that you visit the dentist habitually and to routinely ask for professional teeth cleaning.

As Nicotine pouches are still a relatively new product, there is not a lot of long-term studies available on how they affect the gum. We highly recommend that you discuss any queries with your dentist or doctor as we are not able to give health-related advice on the matter.

15. Do Nicotine pouches stain your teeth?

No. They are white, discreet and do not stain your teeth!

16. Can help you stop smoking Tobacco?

Nicotine is the main addictive substance in tobacco. When a person uses tobacco, many parts of the body get used to having nicotine in them. When a person quits tobacco, they also quit nicotine and will likely have withdrawal from it. This is because the body has to get used to not having nicotine.
The nicotine in tobacco leads to actual physical dependence. This can cause unpleasant withdrawal symptoms when a person tries to quit. Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) gives you nicotine – in the form of gum, patches, sprays, inhalers, or lozenges – but not the other harmful chemicals in tobacco. NRT can help relieve some of the physical withdrawal symptoms so that you can focus on the psychological (emotional) aspects of quitting.
Many studies have shown using NRT can nearly double the chances of quitting smoking. It hasn’t been studied as much for quitting smokeless tobacco, but the NRT lozenges may help.

17. How does nicotine replacement therapy work?

Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) can help with the difficult withdrawal symptoms and cravings that most people say is their only reason for not giving up tobacco. Using NRT reduces those symptoms.
Many people can quit tobacco without using NRT, but most of those who attempt quitting do not succeed on the first try. In fact, people trying to quit usually need many tries before they’re able to quit for good. Most people who try to quit on their own go back to smoking within the first month of quitting – often because of the withdrawal symptoms. But the good news is that many do succeed. In fact, there are now more people who formerly smoked than people who currently smoke!
Together with counseling or other support, NRT may help increase the number of smokeless tobacco users who quit, too.

18. Who should not use nicotine replacement therapy?

The US Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality states that nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) is safe for all adults who want to quit smoking except pregnant women and teens. Still, it’s best to discuss NRT use with your health care provider before starting it. You may have medical problems that should be considered. When deciding whether to use NRT, the benefits of quitting tobacco must outweigh the potential health risks of NRT for each person.
People who are still smoking or using any other form of tobacco should not use NRT. The companies that make NRT products warn that you should not use them if you’re still using tobacco, and the FDA has not approved them to be used in this way. Get the advice of a health care provider if you want to use NRT while continuing to smoke or chew.
NRT has not yet been proven to help people who smoke fewer than 10 cigarettes a day. But many tobacco treatment centers do use NRT for “light smokers.” Talk with your health care provider about a lower dose of NRT if you smoke less than that but feel you need nicotine replacement.

19. Is Nicotine good for you?

Some studies show nicotine, like caffeine, can even have positive effects. It’s a stimulant, which raises the heart rate and increases the speed of sensory information processing, easing tension and sharpening the mind.

20. Is Nicotine good for the brain?

According to research, it turns out the nicotine itself, when given independently from tobacco, could help protect the brain as it ages, and even ward off Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease.

21. Is Tobacco-free Nicotine harmful on its own?

Most experts say nicotine itself does not cause cancer. It’s addictive, which gets people hooked on cigarettes, but the prevailing view has been that it is other substances in tobacco smoke (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, tobacco-specific nitrosamine) that cause DNA damage and therefore cancer.

22. What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol. It is the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis (marijuana). While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant.
CBD is advertised as providing relief for anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. It is also marketed to promote sleep. Part of CBD’s popularity is that it purports to be “nonpsychoactive,” and that consumers can reap health benefits from the plant without the high (or the midnight pizza munchies).

23. What are CBD Pouches?

CBD Pouches are slim, Stain-free mini-pockets that you insert between your gums and your cheek that allow the Cannabidiol (CBD) to slowly enter the bloodstream. A good example of these are Killapods CBD.

24. Do Nicotine pouches help you lose weight?

Weight gain as a side effect of smoking cessation remains a major aspect of smoking and weight control. People can be discouraged by weight gain experienced while quitting smoking. Weight gain is a common experience during smoking cessation, with roughly 75% of smokers gaining weight after quitting. As nicotine is an appetite suppressant and smokers expend more energy, weight gain due to smoking cessation is generally attributed to increased caloric intake and a slowed metabolic rate.

23. What are CBD Pouches?

CBD Pouches are slim, Stain-free mini-pockets that you insert between your gums and your cheek that allow the Cannabidiol (CBD) to slowly enter the bloodstream. A good example of these are Killapods CBD.

25. Can CBD Pouches Help with Chronic pain?

CBD may help to reduce pain by acting on a variety of biological processes in the body. CBD has been shown to work as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and analgesic. CBD may also reduce the anxiety that people living with chronic pain often experience.

26. Can CBD Pouches Help with Arthritis?

While there are laboratory studies suggesting CBD might be a promising approach, and animal studies showing anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects, well-designed studies demonstrating compelling evidence that CBD is safe and effective for chronic arthritis pain in humans do not exist.

Of course, there is anecdotal evidence and testimonials galore, including reports of dramatic improvement by people who tried CBD in its various forms (including Pouches, capsule, liquid, topical, and spray) for their pain.
